Postcard 05 - USA - spruceESL

My next postcard is from a lovely young lady aged just nine years old. The postcard shows the Kissing Tower of Hershey, Pennsylvania. The tower is in Hersheypark and is 250feet (76m) high. The windows are shaped like Hershey Kisses and provide a panoramic view of the surrounding area. The card took only six travel days to reach me.

Postcard 04 - USA - Mrsaucy

This postcard landed on my doormat after travelling for 13 days from a family in Pierre, the capital city of South Dakota. How wonderful to see images of such warmth and colour while here the snow falls outside my window.

Postcard 03 - USA - discpain

My very first card to or from the USA arrived at my door after 12 days travelling, a stunning cityscape of Dallas taken at night. Seeing the city all lit up reminds me that there is beauty to be found in so many things.

Postcard 02 - Canada - jbrann

My next card is a handmade card from Canada, it reached me after 7 days travel time, jbrann writes that he took this picture of the bird, a 'black-capped chickadee', at his bird feeder just the week before he sent me the card. I enjoy birdwatching and it's interesting to see a garden bird from another country.

Postcard 01 - Netherlands - Rolinke

My very first postcrossing postcard wasn't a postcard! It was this beautiful picture notecard from Rolinke in the Netherlands, and it reached me after travelling for just 4 days. Rolinke wrote me a lovely message about herself and her life, it was a wonderful first card to receive.

Welcome to my new blog

As I have started postcrossing I thought it would be a good idea to create a dedicated blog to keep a record of the postcards I receive :)

Why I enjoy Postcrossing:

I love the surprise factor of never knowing where you’ll be sending your next card to, or getting one from. I love connecting, however briefly, with someone from another country. I love the history map with all those coloured lines. I love the postcards falling through my door after travelling across the world, sometimes slightly battered, with their images of life elsewhere. I love the forum, chatting and comparing notes with other postcrossers. I love getting an e-mail telling me one of my cards has safely arrived at it’s destination.
